"You're a commercial user of libcurl who use it for free and you ask a volunteer to fix your problem on his spare time?"
Sometimes I need to say it.

My hobby: figuring out who owns which scrappy-looking website pretending to be independent and cool!
Hackaday.com is owned by Siemens.

Obviously everyone knows that Vic Gundotra killed Reader, but he didn't succeed immediately. He could destaff the project, but people could still spend 20% time maintaining it. It was inevitable that it would die, but what the final blow was a standard Google outcome - load bearing infrastructure was going to be turned off, and everyone had to port their project to the replacement that didn't really work yet. Reader just didn't have the resources, so died.
We are today at @passthesaltcon and @adulau will do a presentation about the GCVE initiative and explain what are the next crazy projects we are working on.
I've written a computer program. And I wasn't going to say anything but it seems it's a very powerful computer program and I'm worried it might be... dangerous.
I've put it on a thumb drive and locked it in a safe, but maybe someone should come and carefully check it out in the air-gap room I've made on my porch?
It might just end the world as we know it. But I'm very responsible so I've put it in the safe. Don't worry.
... unrelated... anyone want to get in on my IPO?
Good morning Europe I have written about the bewildering array of mechanisms available to prevent authentication token theft and also explained why we still basically have none of them available and so the authentication tokens are still being stolen and used. It is here: https://www.codon.org.uk/~mjg59/blog/p/preventing-token-theft/
We don’t and that’s the beauty of GCVE. Two GNA can publish on their own and add relationships if they oppose or if they agree.
The whole dispute stuff is often a waste of time imho and the risk to shadow useful information.
A great point made again during the @apell Conference 2026 today:
"Europe has 3 million #opensource developers. We still pay €260 billion to buy it back."
This is perfect!

@claudex I had a Siemens product a few years ago where the installation manual listed they only supported Windows Server 2007 😅

I've released the new version of my Pico2 DRAM tester! This version adds some minor tweaks, including a new USB-C power connector.

Cloudflare offering self-serv OAuth now, so I wanted to boost their announcement and acknowledge their avowed business model over on LinkedIn.
