I’m not saying AI doesn’t reduce the amount of workers in certain roles. Just like ATMs meant you needed fewer bank tellers at a bank, using AI tools will reduce the amount of workers in certain roles.
However this will be a gradual process not an overnight change warranting mass layoffs right away.
The idea that adopting AI means doing layoffs is a sales pitch to justify replacing your payroll budget with an AI token budget.
AI can perform certain tasks faster & cheaper than people but that doesn’t mean it can do entire jobs better than them.
Smart companies are figuring out this difference
