I have some 4Minute on my playlists, but this popped up and whoa - it's not a sound I'd usually connect with them and what a pleasant surprise of song.
Guess I need to explore their catalogue a bit more as well. :D

This band - Kardi - popped into my YouTube suggestions the other day; this is good - I need to listen to their other tracks.

“Google wants a look at your hands before it lets you through. The company’s newest reCAPTCHA check, rolling out now as a test, asks you to switch on your camera and wave at it so an algorithm can decide whether you’re a human or a bot.
That wave is less casual than it looks. The system records a short video of your hand and pulls 21 hand-landmark coordinates from it, mapping your finger joints, your palm geometry, and the way you move in real time.
Google describes the purpose as liveness detection, a way for websites to fend off automated account creation, credential-stuffing, and other fraud. But this is still a biometric scan, collected so you can prove you’re a person and still involves turning on your cameras for Google.”

Started buying music tracks so I can port them to mp3 (or similar) format/players and not just rely on streaming for a multitude of reasons (supporting groups, disconnecting online, access being removed, playing without phone etc).
But I lack good places to buy with good availability - so right now using iTunes.
It almost makes me feel dirty buying from them and boy is it lousy UI/UX.
It's getting hard to buy CD and digital music these days if you want decent availability and with distribution rights all over the place. Might need to start importing CDs and rip them myself again. Welcome back to the '90 and '00s.
It was supposed to be progress, not regress.
I thought it was Thursday for a handful of minutes this morning - what a bad way to start a day. At least it's not Monday :D
Looking into a LLM generated internal product about to be used for actual clients.
My findings: lots of overengineered code; weird edge-case handling yet missing actual real case handling; fragmented task driven code without cohesion; lack of UI consistency; insane amount of task/spec related comments; generics in segments that aren't generic; and.... more.
Sure production speed is up, and code looks fancier, but nobody will be able to maintain it if LLM is not connected.
And nobody can explain what and why.
At least this makes it easier for me to spot LLM generated code compared to colleagues code
If you have to explain how something is opt-in, it's not opt-in.
If the people who aren't opting in have to take action to not be opted in, that's not opt-in. That's opt-out. Even if it's something like "add this hashtag to your profile" or "go change this setting that most people don't know about and doesn't say shit about our thing"
That's still opt-out, not opt-in.
I don't know why the distinction suddenly becomes super hazy when you're trying to build technology on ActivityPub.
It's super fucking clear to the rest of us.
(While this is coming up for me because of a recent event on the Fediverse, it's something we have to deal with every time someone builds an opt-out service for the Fediverse that they would really like to claim is actually opt-in.)
Hi all, this is a question for the transgender community specifically. So my beautiful, shy daughter has been actively becoming her correct self for just over two years. From my viewpoint she is gorgeous, with a tall lithe slender body, curves in all the right places and looks like a right Goth rock chick and I am so proud of her. She lives about 150 miles away, on her own and has experienced transphobic abuse when out. She is a very quiet person who hates to draw attention to herself. What have other people done to forge a new peer group and friendship group after starting to present as their correct gender? #trans #lonely
Even in a heatwave ones gotta eat, so decided on cooking up some salmon cause it was on sale today. Served with rice, broccoli, spinach and glaze made with honey/garlic, soyasauce and rice vinegar and some green onion. Quite decent, but spinach was a bit bland this time though. Overall some more seasoning but it's hot so didn't want to overdo it either but keep it light.

Metsola doesn't understand that no means no.
Discussion is scheduled for Monday, so act now: https://fightchatcontrol.eu/
Do you remember Boaty McBoatface?
So the UK Met Office is inviting people to suggest up to 5 names for storms. And apparently lots of people have been suggesting "Storm Bigoil", along with BP, Equinor, Exxon & Shell... This is obviously appalling & definitely not to be emulated via this link:

Decided to buy the Canon EOS R10 so here's a meta photo sort thing. 😆
Yah, new toys is always fun.

EU needs to make a stand on Play Integrity. If app devs enforce Play Integrity, this means only Google Certified devices can use banking, etc. This excludes all alternative mobile OS. No #postmarketOS, no #SailfishOS, no Android derivatives #GrapheneOS etc. You don't need Play Integrity. If someone is capable to install or use alternative OS, they sure know what to install or not install, it is on their responsibility. Using non-root but bootloader unlocked device (otherwise can't use alternative OS) does not make my device less secure. On the contrary, it is using an up to date OS with the latest security patches. Do we really want all mobile devices have to be Google Certified? No. #mobile #integrity #bootloader #unlocked #nonsense #Europe
Opening the security training course:
"next, next, next, is short password unsafe question-mark, next next, next, congratulations you've passed'..........
A client wants some 'AI' with dashboard report from ERP system numbers.
I was thinking of just multiplying a 'random decimal number' to figures and see if anybody knew the difference........
A nice little tune - that in my opinion - fits this tag perfectly.
Apparently it's also in some series, so many people might already know of it.
