Oh, that’s a complex question. Okay, here’s an attempt at answering it.

1) I was 48 years old, and ageism is real. It was getting harder to find a job. So I started my own business.

2) I was tired of working for people who knew less about the industry than I did. I watched my last two bosses make bad decisions, and I was done with it.

3) I had always wanted to run my own business. It took so long because I was unnecessarily afraid of all the “what ifs.” Which brings me to point 4...

4) I read a book: “How To Become A Successful Consultant In Your Own Field” by Hubert Bermont.
Published in 1989. Amazingly, this book is still available in hardback and paperback on Amazon. Some of it is dated, but a lot of it continues to be relevant and practical. I highly recommend this book today to anyone thinking about starting your own business, especially if some or all of your business revolves around consulting.

Okay, people, I like temperature. I like cold temperatures sometimes. I like hot temperatures sometimes. I like middle temperatures sometimes. I'm a big believer in living someplace with four seasons.

That said, it is *hot* outside, like way too hot! It's okay on the deck in the shade with the breeze, but if I had to do any physical labour at all, there would be no chance that I would survive longer than 10 minutes.

I see the EU has ended their version of de minimis, which is designed to prevent the purchase of cheap goods tariff-free in small batches from China. I understand the perspective. China is an economic force. There is no question, but I fail to understand the benefit of taxing the daylights out of simple hobbyists and regular consumers that are just trying to participate in free global trade.

I see the feds realized that we were gonna print t-shirts. Good news.
