Design tools need to change.
I feel we live in the middle ages that we still need to communicate the design to developers. It just doesn't seem right to me. As a designer I should be able to design the way I want it, not the way some framework wants it, or the way a programmer has skill or time to do it.
It was all going that way with no-coding tools and LLMs seemed like they would bring that extra power to complete that step, but it didn't materialize. We need design tools ai can understand.

At the start of my design career and even before I dreamt and imagined an ai in a lot of respects worse than what we have today, but imagined it would be consistent. That it would be able to solve the tedious part of work. Now we have on one side coding where it can (conditionally) code impressively complex stuff, on the other side it can generate photorealistic photos, but in the middle of that it can barely create a usable design element in a design tool.

Anyone tested the Figma ai agent? All I've tried was low quality and very slow to the point I can do stuff manually faster.
Design tools need a serious rework, but not like Google stitch or Claude designer that are useless for anything at least half serious.

There is a European-owned place called https://aisle.com/ that is doing world class security bug finding. Beating Mythos even in this case. But no one in Europe likes talking up our own talent. Been trying to get them mentioned in Dutch news for ages, but all we can do apparently is promote US tech.
