Any experts on Mediaeval Latin out there? The secondary sources have a dispute between dates in this 1284 letter from Edward I to the Duke of Brabant: one source gives June 15th, the other June 20th.

The primary source, which I've just obtained a copy of, is difficult (for me!) to judge which date is correct, though it superficially seems to be 'XV', so I'd be grateful for assistance with this.

I just saw the New Zealand Gazette Index from 1840 to 2017 is available with full text searching. This really is a goldmine for anyone researching genealogy here in Aotearoa. The site is fast and very accurate. An absolute must to bookmark.

So if you followed me for any amount of time, you might know that I have a bit of an obsession with tactile maps. I love things like Atlases and world maps because for a long time I didn't have access to anything like that. I didn't understand, for example, where China was or where Russia was and how these fit in relation to where we are. You can imagine that it made things like studying history or geography very difficult and for me it became about answering the questions correctly so I could get a good mark on my test, not actually understanding the material. So now that we have things like 3-D printers and better and more efficient ways to make braille and of course multiline braille displays I have made it a bit of a personal mission to get better educated on these topics and I admit, I have started a bit of a math collection. So… In my email this morning I got a message and there is now a company who prints 3-D tactile maps, and these maps are also puzzles. So I have been a busy little bee, spending money that I should not be spending on Etsy and the United States map and the map of Europe are coming to me. I plan to do the puzzles and then I want to glue the pieces down so I can hang them up on my wall. I have a bit of a decorating theme going already with a bunch of tactile maps so these will fit in great. You're also able to choose the colors of the states and the countries. The background is black so depending on if you can see or if the colors matters you or if a certain kind of contrast is better, you can pick the color and so the United States is going to be pink! And Europe is yellow! I figured those would be nice and high contrast with Black. So I'm super excited to get these.
