Seeing the damage that "AI" is doing to the Kernel (not just in Slop code being integrated that will bite us later but in making becoming a new kernel developer even harder than it is at a time where we should really be thinking about how to fill that pipeline) is super painful.

Search results are up to 90 percent slop: I'm constantly double-checking every photo of an animal or place I find online to look for signs that it's automatically generated. I have to check games I want to play because I don’t want to spend money on what will inevitably turn out to be the ludic equivalent of eating cardboard. I can't really emphasise enough that the main thing LLMs have done is slow me down and add cognitive burden. I'm just *tired* of every aspect of this trend at this point.
