@jwildeboer I agree with your statement Jan. Our police in Vancouver (Canada) are similar, in my experience. At one point, the police parked a huge black tank outside their headquarters and it sent a message that we were the enemy. (Again, that was my feeling).
@ElleAdam @jwildeboer The cops in my teeeny Texas town are sooo mad at me because I stopped them from getting a swat tank. And swat gear. I literally stood in the center of city council and pointed out that the biggest crime we’d had in 20 years was when Karen’s firebird got stolen and we all knew her drunk of an exhusband was responsible. We’ve had one murder in 10 years. We are literally one of the safest places in the country. We do not need to arm Billy Joe for war, to check on the piggly wiggly carts being missing.
They didn’t get the tank. Boy are they mad.
