A very intense day of packing/moving, but we’re into the rental place! Got laundry on the go, sushi has been ordered, fridge and freezer have our food, clothes hung in closet, etc. There’s still a lot to unpack but not bad for one day. It took us two cars/two trips. Not sure if this counts as #DeclutterBuds but I emptied and cleaned my fridge so I’m counting it.
today a friend came over we cleaned out the freezer, deep freeze, packed all the kitchen stuff we needed, emptied the kitchen island (it will be removed during the renovation)! We did so much! I’m very proud.

I've barely touched my Hobonichi planner in May, because I didn't decorate it with stickers at the beginning of the month. This is bad because writing things in it is tangibly helpful for me and my ADHD. This morning at breakfast I was flipping through June and just slapping washi tape on each page because that counts as decorated and it's way faster than individual stickers. Perfect doesn't exist.

Our provincial government is trying to censor 2SLGBTQ+ books in school libraries. They posted a survey about it, you can fill it out whether you have kids or not, and as a "concerned Albertan," I mean, aren't we all concerned, really? For where you live you can also choose "prefer not to say."

I told V, I’m going to go and feel bad about myself on my own, because that’s just where I’m at tonight. Empirical evidence may suggest that I wrote some words that weren’t bad, cooked a meal for my family and got my kid to and from school today. However, the brain cares not.
P3 and I spent the afternoon hyper focusing on making paper airplanes and then executing a series of tests for them. Somehow we made 12, lmao.

The gratitude I felt in that moment was so profound. She saw this little excavator and knew it mattered to someone, and took the time to bring it to the cashiers where it could be found. I hope she felt like a hero.
Still think about the time we went to Michael’s, and P3 - just two or three - insisted on bringing his tiny excavator. Matchbox sized, one hinged bucket prone to detaching. I told him it wasn’t a good idea, that it could easily get lost.
Back at the car he gasps, “My excavator! It’s gone!” We sprint back into the store, retracing our steps. No sign of it on any shelves, or on the floor. At the checkout, a woman in line hears us, holds her arm up like she has the Olympic torch. It’s Excavator.

fwiw! This is a photo of what it looked like on May 30 last year. (I paid someone to come and clean it up). And June 17th of last year! I’m going for a wild and woodsy vibe, and try to focus on perennials that will suit that and also be good for pollinators.
It’s the first year I haven’t been too injured to work in my garden for awhile! I made some leaf piles by raking up the leaves around the plants. I’m thinking about dividing my woodland violet and possibly digging up some of the sems, too. Images if you want to give an opinion, haha.
Made a little GERD friendly adaption of the classic Moosewood restaurant red beans and coconut rice today.
Changes I made: less onion, added asafoetida, omitted red pepper flakes, added two diced celery stalks and two diced carrots. Canned red organic beans (no added acid).
In place of the tomatoes: 175 mL chicken broth, and 1/2 cup of my frozen acid watcher marinara sauce

I put my phone in greyscale mode in an effort to use it less (along with some other measures) but this one is the weirdest. Having no colours really does kinda suck the fun right out of it.
There’s this thing I saw on IG where you give kids the start of phrases undoubtedly shouted at you as a kid and let them finish them. I tried it with P3 without filming them, here’s how it went.

Talked with our restoration manager today about the plan to relocate for the month of June. It's nice to know that there is a plan, I clarified some things, he clarified some things. We concluded with me saying "so don't freak out" re: trying to get the contents of the house ready. He said, "if you have physical limitations and injuries that make it difficult for you, we have people for that, so yes. Respectfully, don't freak out." 😂
