@mastodonmigration @Npars01 Not sure that Jeffries and Schumer are directly comparable to Churchill and FDR, Nicole.😂
You make good points about their strategies behind the scenes, but strategic skill is not exclusive to those two, and not what inspired the Blue Wave. That happened because voters want Dems to FIGHT. Under S&J, Dems capitulated and compromised too many times when stiffer resistance was an option, and if the new Dem majority does the same… (cont’d)

@Npars01 @mastodonmigration …their massive public support will evaporate just as quickly as they got it, and we’ll be back in the same situation, or likely worse. Schumer talking about “working with” Trump, and Jeffries saying he’s not interested in “retribution” (as if justice and accountability are the same as retribution), is a spectacular failure to read the room. We need leaders who visibly and unapologetically take the fight to fascism, or we lose.

@bluejay @Npars01 Not only that, but it is not within their authority to determine what illegal and unconstitutional behaviors get overlooked. This is a fundamental misunderstanding of the #RuleOfLaw. They are elected representatives who swear an oath to the Constitution. This does not give them the prerogative to effectively authorize corrupt and criminal acts by refusing to prosecute them. No one has this power.

@bluejay @Npars01 @mastodonmigration The GOP acted unethically and in many cases illegally. They should be treated as such...

There is a time & place for changing horses.
https://www.americanheritage.com/why-do-we-say-4
The problem is when leaders deliberately manufacture crises to retain power.
https://politicaldictionary.com/words/dont-change-horses/
Timing is everything & GOP billionaires flog that "Dems in Disarray" narrative to induce buyer's remorse & cognitive dissonance.
The Moneyed want permanent control and attacking leadership is a trued & true tactic to ratf*ck elections.
Change horses when the horse is too tired to gallop anymore

@Npars01 @mastodonmigration If WE are the ones pushing our reps to change horses, why would we believe the “Dems in disarray” narrative when we’re the ones who want it to happen? The voters will see right through it just like we saw through the fearmongering about Mamdani and El-Sayed, the attacks on trans people, etc. It’s a new day and the time to change horses is now.

@bluejay @Npars01 @mastodonmigration Moreover, it’s time that the Dems stop fearing what the opposition will say. The GOP hasn’t given simply plowed ahead with their platform despite any protestations for decades. It’s partly how we got to where we are today.
And, yeah, anyone not onboard with demanding accountability and justice needs to step aside or be replaced. We’re past the point of “nice.”

One set of investigations requires a deep dive into Russian money laundering in Silicon Valley.
Would you live in this tower of potential surveillance?

@Npars01 I don’t necessarily disagree with your links but it seems like you’re now veering off into some favorite topics that aren’t directly relevant to the Schumer/Jeffries discussion. I kindly ask that folks stay on topic here in my comment section, especially with political topics that can spin off wildly in all directions. 😊

It is on topic.
Some of leadership's timidity issues arise from the dark money flows meddling in elections, from Russia especially
Trump got his funding from Russian real estate money laundering.
Several Republicans like Mike Johnson & Scalise are quislings for Konstantin Nikolaev's Kremlin op American Ethane.
The hesitancy is understandable considering how many pro-democracy public figures die from "falls out of windows", plane crashes, & car bombings.

We tend to focus on the fascist Silicon Valley surveillance tech funded by Russia & other petrostate despots, while overlooking the Kremlin's long-held practice of putting surveillance into building projects too.

How many electeds are compromised using hacked phones, listening devices and gmail?
Koch Network & AIPAC private spying op is also unparalleled.
