@CosmicGoat Absolutely, can’t hurt. But is there any data on how effective these petitions are? I’ve heard from many sources that phone calls (more than emails or petitions or social media posts) are the most effective way to break through to your reps and make sure they know what their constituents are thinking. We can sign petitions but we need to CALL as well, if we can.

@bluejay you're absolutely right with your concern, which is why I consider this a both/and thing rather than an either/or.

The truth is, I've called a lot. I've emailed a lot. Supported all kinds of protests. Responses are usually cookie cutter and almost always annoying. I've signed petitions and been a part of other campaigns. In the end, I'm not sure that the individual communique is what matters.

I think the most important thing is the hundreds and thousands of people peppering their representatives until it drives them crazy enough to do something. 😅💜

So my philosophy? Do it all.. Do it a lot. And then do it some more. Haha. 🤪

@CosmicGoat Yep, it’s the volume of messages, not any individual one, which is also another reason phone calls are effective — a phone ringing all day is harder to ignore than an email or a petition. But totally agree, it doesn’t hurt to try all of it — we do what we have the energy for!
