@kottke I was having a conversation with someone last night. They had just come back from a trip to a wilderness area with true dark skies. "We saw so many shooting stars!"
I asked them to describe what they saw. "Yeah, those weren't shooting stars. Those were Starlink or some other satellite." I felt a little bad ruining that memory for them.
