To say that it was windy when we visited St. Ninian's Beach is an understatement. Luckily it wasn't windy enough for the water to cover the tombolo that connects the mainland Shetland to St. Ninian's Isle so we could still do the crossing and back. The tombolo is the largest one in the UK.
