Had our monthly community drum circle this morning, then made another vat on tomato sauce with frozen homegrown toms while @johnl made more pear sorbet. Then we picked the possibly final crop of chillis from the greenhouse (inc 375g of scotch bonnets), and some cherry toms from the volunteer plant, which is still volunteering.

After the sauce was done, we walked the dog the long way around to the pub and had roasts for dinner. Now time for jigsaw.

The most Sunday of Sundays. An excellent day.

@louisa_ @johnl I had to look up what a community drum circle was but, yes, that does sound like a very good day. 😁

I've got lots of green chillis on my two plants. I've picked the red ones. Some of them do look like they're trying to turn red, slowly. I may just have to pick them green. I'm sure they'll still add a spicy kick to whatever I put them in.

The tomatoes are all past their best now. I don't think any more are going to ripen, so I'll be frying them up green.

@aroundthehills I culled our tomato plants in pots a few weeks ago, but I thought this volunteer plant growing from the ground could look after itself until the first frost. Definitely past its best too, and prone to splitting, but better than nothing.

Our remaining "green" chillis are all a weird pale colour (they have been all year, before turning red) - I suspect we'll be picking them soon too but they're so insipid that I don't know if we'll want to cook with them 🤣
