“A Place Beside the Fire” is causing a lot of people to be in touch. Someone this morning who was moved by its lyrics asked me the most thoughtful question I’ve been asked in a long time. With the importance of the job you’re doing and the constant firefighting, how do you not get overwhelmed and have it take a toll on your mental health.
I do think we should discuss that sort of thing more, because for many, it feels like we’re constantly fighting for the most basic of things. I’ve got great strategies and support mechanisms in place, but it wasn’t always that way. And I know some people struggle and find it hard not to be angry a lot of the time. a conversation about how to advocate without losing your equilibrium, your composure and your positivity is a very important discussion to have. I need to think about that some more.

@JonathanMosen Yes, please let's discuss this, because sometimes I simply, as we say in Russian and French, want to lower my arms (to give up, that is). I know I won't do it, but sometimes the fight is so exhausting that I just want to fall on the fighting ring and lie down to have some rest.

@JonathanMosen I think we all in the blindness community worldwide should have said convos. I'm glad as Yosemity Sam used to sayd i dn't loose my stack back in September. I've been fighting like hell to get a CGM sensor since June of this year. Medicaid here in North Carolina refused to pay for them. Well turned to some within NFB'as Diabetic email list and a member from Greensborro who I was put in contact with. Long story short. She suggested I talk this over with San Ho. In turn he recommended I talk to the NC legal aid. Got a lawyer. She worked on things along with the primary dock. Well they rversed their decision in early September after denying me for a 3rd time. Its easy to get madder than a sitingray.

@JonathanMosen Jonathan, that song of yours was absolutely outstanding and amazing. I really liked the children’s singing throughout the song along with your voice and also the instrumentation was amazing. Could you please tell us, how difficult was it to publish that song on all the services such as Apple Music and Spotify and which service did you use? I have actually written some songs using Suno myself just for something to do in my spare time and I have now been inspired by you and would like to publish some of my songs.

@JonathanMosen I have just sent the song to all of my friends and the song sounds really awesome in a pair of Sennheiser momentum five headphones. Absolutely outstanding Jonathan. Please share any future songs you may decide to write.

@JonathanMosen Was wondering whether you could possibly discuss somewhere how difficult it was to write the song in Suno and how difficult it was to distribute the song on distro kid.com. Many people including myself would benefit from knowing how difficult it is to publish your own music costs, etc. Just a thought.
