    I am married to my partner of a quarter of a century and we are alive, happy and loved. All of this is the promise that movie - and its cast - made to me when I was young, when people were dying of AIDS and violence against queer people was still very common in #Germany
    It’s not all roses today, especially if you don’t pass as cis-het-male, but.
    I must make a movie night with the younglings to see what they think of cherished old movies and musicals. Jeffrey was therapy.

    The last people I personally knew who died of #AIDS or #HIV related diseases died in the early 2000. The timeline was
    1. everyone is dying miserably of the plague
    2. we have kind of a treatment (AZT) for a while
    3. we have #HAART, everyone lives (for maybe very long), maybe with problems
    4. with ART nobody gets infected or sick ever
    Jeffrey (and my coming out) happened at about 2.
    “we” meant being health insured and in a rich country.
