Sir Patrick Stewart’s anti-DV activism is one of his most important public roles, IMHO, and losing that is its own grief for this world. He was not just paying lip service, nor was he angrily tearing down other men for not being aligned enough with a “right” position. He spoke publicly and painfully from a place of being a DV survivor of a father’s mishandled trauma, because that is what HE was, just as much as his mother.
