Would it make sense to have some portable ramps with you?

Perhaps a small threshold ramp on your side to get the casters over the lip (like some rubber), then a folding ramp running down to the lower ground?

I've no idea about the realities of using a wheelchair, so sorry if this is nonsensical... I know this solution is additional weight.
