Two more days of #CrossBorderRail . Today it's going to be a short ferry ride across the Strait of Messina onto mainland Italy, then Villa San Giovanni - Reggio Emilia AV on Italo 8944.
Tomorrow I plan to continue on to Milan, Zurich, Paris and finally Brussels.

Notable from yesterday: the Italo 8944 had a technical glitch. They made the entire train step out in Naples and board a different, empty train that they conjured out of somewhere. Everyone kept the same seat on the new train as the old one. I arrived in Reggio Emilia ON TIME. Impressive!
