Being the "critical friend" to organizations doing work that is meant to be in the public interest, but that mostly unthinkingly buys into a belief in the inevitability of corporate GenAI, is much more tiring than it was even a couple years ago. It feels like many decision-makers have (with varying degrees of enthusiasm) given up on the idea that they have a real choice. [4/4]
