The first long rain of the year, when it waxes and wanes but never really stops for days and weeks. The sky unbroken gray. Everything is wet grass, wet rock, or mud puddles. Even the cold air is damp.
#pnw natives have two feelings about the rain because yes, it gets just as tedious and depressing as you imagine but also we hear the rejoicing of the trees, the soil, and the frogs. To them it's harvest time and life and they are our friends. 🩶 💚 💙
