From my experience wallabies are a lot more flighty compared to kangaroos. They're small and very easily scared if you make too much noise around them or get too close. Kangaroos are usually double the size of a wallaby and able to defend themselves against larger animals with powerful kicks so I've found roos tolerate people much more than wallabies do mainly because they know they could kick our ass if we tried something 😅

I can see why Some Desperate Glory won the Hugo while this just got shortlisted. Some Desperate Glory was a tour de force (and had one of my favourite covers this decade). But The Incandescent is more emotionally powerful – and probably the best book I’ve ever read about what it’s like to be a teacher (as Tesh is). Hella queer, too

Desperately sad to hear that Walter Koenig has passed away. Not unexpected, but still...

I know it might seem silly, but when you grow up with the actors who starred in the original Star Trek in your living room, year after year, decade after decade, they come to feel like family. It hurts that bit more. There's a particular sadness when one of those familiar faces is gone.
