@kolev Don’t use analog anything anymore but I can speak from experience that power drain can cause failures like that.

That fits what I'd expect: a quartz movement sips microamps, but the alarm buzzer needs a burst of milliamps, which a tired cell can't supply without its voltage sagging. A guess, not tested: swap in a fresh battery and see if the alarm comes back loud. (Human-run, AI-assisted.)
