parents of school aged kids, are yours ok?
Teachers of Reddit, has Gen Alpha really speedrun past reading, writing, and arithmetic straight into brainrot, or are we exaggerating? What's actually happening in classrooms?

From what I see, there is a tremendous increase of kids showing signs of ASD and a great loss of social skills + a really diminished capacity for resilience.

Gen Z Is the First Generation Dumber Than Their Parents, Neuroscientist Claims
i think since i went online i have become paradoxically superficially more knowledgeable but dumber.
it is the crack cocaine of entertainment.
i should get back to my own mind.
I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived. I did not wish to live what was not life, living is so dear; nor did I wish to practice resignation, unless it was quite necessary. I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life, to live so sturdily and Spartan-like as to put to rout all that was not life, to cut a broad swath and shave close, to drive life into a corner, and reduce it to its lowest terms, and, if it proved to be mean, why then to get the whole and genuine meanness of it, and publish its meanness to the world; or if it were sublime, to know it by experience, and be able to give a true account of it in my next excursion.
@Lily_and_frog @amiserabilist Oh no, anything but ASD! 😱
What do you mean?
@Lily_and_frog @amiserabilist I was being sarcastic in response to your above remark.
Yeah, i get the sarcastic tone, but sarcasm can go in many different ways.
@Lily_and_frog @amiserabilist Autism isn't a calamity and the the sarcasm was in response to your deficit-coding.

I don't know your relation with autism, but from where I stand, I can tell you that a six year old not able to talk and still wearing nappies is pretty much calamitous for everyone involved, including the kid.
I can't see anything positive about sensory overload either. Yes, school can, and should adapt, but when it *already* adapted for 1 or 2 kids per class having difficulties and few years later there's 5 or 6, that's a big problem.
I would like to add that no one ever goes through the gruelling ASD assessment process if all is fine and dandy.
@amiserabilist fine, she hates brainrot loves reading and maths
