need to rant a bit.

i saw some kinda new flip-phone that actually ticked most my boxes and went "oh, cool!". and then near instantly got sketched tf out.

they had some weird system-level blacklist of what you could install. first red flag. then it was their philosophy and the pitch; it felt misguided, regressive. a lot of advertising of "go back to the past!" the past is dead. unregulated nostalgia tends towards fascism, from what I've seen. this makes me very discomforted.

and then the final nail in the coffin: I came across their ai ad, and their "non-ai" """apology""", which……obviously had ai in it. like they use ai in the video meant to backpedal from the ai ad they made. within the first 30 seconds too.

and while the ai alone is already enough to make me entirely disinterested, the fucking. obvious zero remorse? the complete disinterest in change and pretending like they have?

idc who you are that shit completely destroys any trust I have in anything you do. especially if you start making excuses like "we made the ad we could afford at the time". bullshit. literally try at all then.
