@skinnylatte welcome to the Indian govt where justice can be delayed by decades. My family had a court case that lasted 30 years and had to go the court once a week for that entire time.

How did the court case end? The plaintiff ran out of money - see, he kept bribing the judge but then the judge would change. Their son finally ended up settling because of that. The whole episode was traumatic for my grandmother.

@skinnylatte A court that acted .... even though late, appropriately? - as an american, I find this far fetched and strange... it must be a "one-off", surely the rich will be able to twist it to mean they are divinely seperated from the poor, so material wealth can remain sole property of said rich as their deity and lifes work? 🤔😶

@skinnylatte the detail that stopped me: the patent holder isn't even the villain this time. A drug supplied at 2,700 rupees was selling for 27,000 at the hospital counter, that's distributor and pharmacy margin, not R&D recovery. A 30% trade margin cap has existed for years, it just covered 42 drugs and nobody extended the list. And the Gurgaon part sits heavy, people avoiding free diagnosis camps because a positive result is a bill they can't pay. Cheaper treatment makes knowing survivable.

@skinnylatte A 70% drop on cancer drug prices is huge for families who've been choosing between treatment and everything else. So sad she didn't get to see it. Her name deserves to be on this win.
