That is an incomplete truth.
The object has no volition. A human has to choose. We do have many examples of how we may try to be sure the choice is not left to ignorant humans.
The only test we have for AI is whether some unknown human can make money from it, and the AI promoters are already calling on us to "Stand and deliver!"
