    examples of some of the sensitive data researchers were able to glom from Muse because Meta screwed up the way the link share function worked:

    "a candidate’s notes preparing for a confidential executive-search call with a frontier AI lab, naming the lab’s internal contact and the meeting time
a national marketing company’s internal revenue review, marked for its CEO
a small-business owner’s loan application, with the amount requested
a to-do list that included a bank fraud alert, with a partial account number and a transaction amount and time
a real-estate investor’s internal performance report, with two property addresses and exact return, income, and mortgage figures
a workplace’s full-year staff vacation calendar, listing dozens of employees against the week each one would be away"

    this is just the orchestra getting warmed up. Meta (and other companies) know there is no meaningful accountability for these kinds of fuck ups in a country that's too corrupt to have functional regulators or pass a modern privacy law

    @karlbode.com

    I rarely used Instant Messenger, and never installed the app on any device. I never use it now. I have the FB app only on my iPad, and use it a couple times/week to keep up with family/friends. Not sure how much longer I’ll continue that? 🤷🏻‍♂️
