I created a thing because I'm tired of having to look this stuff up every time I open an editor on a new machine or new install. I always end up fighting with it instead of just trying to find the setting, because it's always called something different ("close braces", "brace completion", "insert closing ] } )", etc.")

Now I have a place to look it up every time, with an easy to remember URL!

@ExpiredPopsicle a great resource! auto-braces are the worst.

though i did not realize you would include my chat message verbatim (including the "um..." and removing formatting).

please replace the vim section with the following (the commands in backticks should be rendered as <code> like you did with helix):

    ## vim/neovim

vim does not have bracket insertion. if you have bracket insertion in vim, search your config for either the "vim-autobrace" plugin or search `/inoremap ['"{([]`. delete these lines.

your config is usually located in ~/.vimrc or ~/.config/nvim/init.vim. check `:h vimrc` if it's somewhere else.

@ExpiredPopsicle I fail to comprehend why autobraces exist, like, at least in helix, you still need to type braces to conveniently input text
