Many years ago, at the height of the original Drumcree tensions, I was at an astronomy meeting in England and was taken aback by the total indifference of my English colleagues to what was happening. Reminded of this today when Laura Kuensberg’s BBC politics programme managed to not mention it once. And Kemi Badenoch was allowed to propose withdrawing from the ECHR without challenge as to how that would affect the Good Friday agreement.
