Americans are united in opposition to data centers in their communities.

Opposition to data centers is widespread, and it’s bringing people together even when they disagree on politics and the reality of climate change.

RT: @jeremycorbyn More proof of the complete absurdity of the proscription of Palestine Action.

What a stain on this government that people in this country are unable to buy and enjoy the work of one of this generation’s greatest writing talents.

De-proscribe Palestine Action now.

Many years ago, at the height of the original Drumcree tensions, I was at an astronomy meeting in England and was taken aback by the total indifference of my English colleagues to what was happening. Reminded of this today when Laura Kuensberg’s BBC politics programme managed to not mention it once. And Kemi Badenoch was allowed to propose withdrawing from the ECHR without challenge as to how that would affect the Good Friday agreement.

"t’s reported today that Sally Rooney, who many believe is one of the best authors of her generation, has been advised that because she has expressed support for Palestine Action she could be arrested if she comes to the UK. Because she is donating some of the money from the sale of her books to Palestine Action her publishers have been advised that they too could be prosecuted if they sell her books in any form and so they have removed them from the bookshelves and other outlets. I do not want anyone in the UK to miss out on her wonderful writing and so I thought I would read the first paragraphs of her terrific book “Normal People.” I hope others will read further sections of the book so that people do not lose out on the joy of reading h her works." - John McDonnell

I feel that the visits to Russia of the directors of the CIA and FBI are deeply sinister. Are they are having their remotely controlled implants fitted?

"Polanski said: "I'm the only Jewish leader of a political party.
I'm a victim of antisemitism every day and I've made it clear Jewish people are welcome in my party.
You're a Prime Minister who arms a genocide and locks pensioners up for opposing it."

Once again, it seems Elon is trying to tip the scales in Ukraine, giving Russia an advantage. He likely does this to pressure Ukraine to stop strikes on oil infrastructure, because Elon knows we’re coming for him if we win our country back in November.

So now Starlink is being limited in Ukraine.

It's pretty clear that America and the fascists who run it are enemies of the free world.

I wish more people saw this, and were willing to wean themselves off American tech.

That said, the shittiest part of this whole story is that American voters (the ones who are forcing Trumps hand now) didn't care about fascism, they didn't care about the gestapo, they didn't care about foreign wars, they care only about the price of gas at the pumps.

I'm sorry but a democracy is hard to defend when the people doing the voting act this way.

Or put another way, democracy only works with an educated and compassionate electorate...decades of neoconservatism has erased such a thing from the face of the country (and frankly, much of the rest of the west as well).

RT: @MaritaLalaguna Has @andyburnham ever condemned all the anti-semitic and Islamophobic cartoons that have been published in @thetimes and @Telegraph? Or is antisemitism only when people, including Holocaust survivors and Jewish leaders, don’t support a genocidal nation that Andy is arming?

Well, Palantir have abandoned their legal case against Sadiq Khan (Mayor of London) for obstructing their potential contract with the Metropolitan Police now that the Mayor's office has 'clarified' that the decision was not based on the firm's 'values of ethics'.... they're now able to compete for future contracts.

However, with the un-flattering efficacy data coming out of the NHS, actually it may be pyrrhic victory as Palantir look less & less competitive now....

South Korea went from burying almost all its food waste to recycling almost all of it. In 1997, 95.4% went to landfill. Today about 95% is recycled, after a 2005 landfill ban, separate collection and pay-by-weight bins that cut Seoul’s daily food waste by nearly a quarter. The Korean Zero Waste Movement Network, a coalition of more than 180 groups, campaigned for four decades and is now an Earthshot Prize finalist. In three days, Washington sanctioned the court that could try Putin, lifted sanctions on Russian diesel, told Ukraine to get a new president, and declared a ceasefire that binds only Ukraine.

America is no longer Ukraine's ally, Hans Petter Midttun argues, and Europe should stop pretending it is.
