Only Wednesday and I'm already at 228 active minutes for this week.

Went for a 15 minute warm-up walk then swam 500m in about 26 minutes with lots of rests in between laps. Heart rate was above 130 for the vast majority of that time. I definitely find it easier to push my cardio in the water... I hate feeling hot and sweaty. The water keeps me cool and comfortable.

This is actually the first time since January that my "training status" in Garmin Connect is "productive". It's usually "recovery", with some occasional "detraining" or "maintaining".

A bit stiff and sore today but feeling great about being more active.

@dave dang I wish I could easily fit swimming into my life cuz being hot and sweaty is one of the # 1 things I hate about physical activity. It is nearly intolerable to me.

@dyani Me too! It's one of the reasons I love it here on Vancouver Island... there's no humidity in the summer. The summer humidity in Toronto is awful and suffocating. You're sweating without even being active.

Swimming definitely makes being active easier.

Do you have a rec centre or a public pool nearby? The one here is about a 10 minute drive down the highway. I'm trying to go twice a week.

@dave yes but at this point I know driving would be a huge barrier to adopting it into my life lol. Plus, even tho this sounds silly, my hair is a huge problem with this. It's pink, long and thick, takes forever to dry, and needs precise hair care or it explodes so I could not swim unless I could easily prevent it from getting wet at all and I don't see how I could do that even with a swim cap lol 😞
