@chris I worked in the petroleum industry for over 30 years. Saw bulk fuels sold in barrels, cubic metres and the odd time gallons. Always by volume, never by weight. Perhaps trumplestiltskin is saying goodbye to his last remaining brain cells?
Oct 9, 2026, 9:53 PM@mikemcrae canada's energy regulator does everything in tonnes. not tons. its annoying
All of which suggests that this deal is something he conjured up in his little head.
Let’s remember that Russia probably is already running at capacity with its remaining refineries.
It all smells like hogs waddle
@chris @GhostOnTheHalfShell @mikemcrae not to mention the US consumes 3 to 4 million barrels of diesel per day. 500k tons of diesel is about 3million barrels(I went to Statista and a dodgy fuel weight site, but the numbers sound right).
So these numbers are small beer, even if they are true.
@adamvs1 @chris @GhostOnTheHalfShell @mikemcrae This post above about 8 comments, to MrGlobal on YouTube figured .0254% of that diesel fuel is not enough to alter the global pricing of diesel fuel. Short video is worthwhile. Here: https://mastodon.social/@Savvyhomestead/117414069265125129
