@Chancerubbage
I try not to judge. A few times a year I get people inquiring about our primary domain: "You obviously aren't doing anything with it! I'll pay you US$200!" (Or something.) Well, we are using the domain heavily, just not for a public-facing website. So, I mean, it's possible some of these quiet domains are doing things I just can't easily see. - ChancerubbageChancerubbage@mastodon.socialAug 10, 2026, 4:02 PM
@geoffduncan some make perfect sense if only for email, and are indeed in heavy, yet non visible use.
But I have found no businesses using the name I wished to use, in any media. I stopped looking at buying it on auction long ago.
It was speculative squatting, pure and simple.
CromleyVoiceofDuum@mindly.socialAug 10, 2026, 3:36 PM@geoffduncan I owned https://www.cromulence.com/ for several years before admitting to myself I wasn't going to do anything with it and sold it. Make 'em an offer?

@VoiceofDuum
I had "pooplet.com" for a long time. Don't ask. :)
