@Garwboy my singular complaint about this timely and necessary piece (which I've happily boosted) is from this paragraph:
> More importantly, Dr Tamimi is a vocal proponent of the anti-psychiatry movement, and has been regularly rebuked by the medical establishment for his poorly informed, anti-ADHD claims. I also have it on good authority that he has been laughed out of psychologist conferences for insisting that neurodivergence doesn’t exist, although I have no direct evidence for this so take that with a pinch of salt.
This paragraph is full of valid reasons to dismiss Tamimi as a crank. Listing "anti-psychiatry" on equal footing with the genuine reasons, and even first, is a really troubling choice, given the history and present of the industry. I'm not disputing that this person is a grifter, I think that's clear. But "anti-psychiatry" also describes people who object to medical gatekeeping and the disorder model (in favor of informed consent access to meds), like myself!
