@shellsharks There are definitely some interesting philosophical musings to be had around this topic. When I first used LLMs, the term “stochastic parrot” very much appealed to me, but over time and as the models improved, I occasionally would wonder, how do I come up with the next words I speak or write? It’s not like I have a whole monologue ready before I start; my mind is coming up with next words on the fly. Is that dramatically different than token prediction? I think so
