FIRST PARAGRAPH ON THE FRONT PAGE OF TODAY'S ATLANTA JOURNAL CONSTITUTION: In 1860, an enslaved man named Sheppard Peek was listed among the possessions of William Peek, a white man in Crawfordville. His value was placed at $1,400. On another surviving document, Sheppard signed his name with an X. More than a century and a half later, Sheppard’s great-great-granddaughter, Keisha Lance Bottoms, is Georgia’s governor-elect. https://www.ajc.com/politics/2026/11/keisha-lance-bottoms-crawfordville-governors-mansion/

Here's a fact I want you to carry with you for the next two years, and I want you to infect as many other people as you can with this fact.

The world's richest man spent about as much on this election, relatively speaking, as a median US voter under 35 would spend dining for two at McDonalds.

Half a billion dollars, relative to his reported wealth, is roughly equivalent to about $20 relative to the net worth of the median US resident under 35. This cannot be allowed to continue.

NEW: Democrats have gained control over enough state governments to pass the National Popular Vote Compact and give it a majority of at least 283 electoral votes—13 more than it needs to activate by 2028.

My story below explains the path forward for eventually electing the president by popular vote

Mississippi is still too close to call but moved in the right direction overnight. Time to fire up Reconstruction 2.0?

This is why Republicans couldn't afford to lose Texas. There's no road to the White House for Republicans without Texas.

Regrettably, someone on Xitter did this joke better, and now that I've seen it, I'm required to post it.

She moved to this district in 2024 so it'd be safer. I think she's cooked. The remaining votes are mostly in places where she's running behind. I love it when someone gets what they deserve.

Everybody said Trump couldn't achieve regime change, but he's proved them all wrong.

There better not be any fucking "Let bygones be bygones."

If you’re not watching the Senate race in Mississippi you should be, because it is extremely close. As in, right now, TWENTY-EIGHT VOTES close

Gradually, then suddenly.

It looks like Democrats also take the Texas House. I don't even know how to process this. If Democrats unfuck the districts, so black and brown people are no longer disenfranchised, and cities have the electoral power their population would indicate, Texas could be blue for a generation, and Republicans would have to violently excise their racists and Nazis to ever win another presidency.

Edit: Probably not taking the TX Senate. I don't think enough seats are open.

lolmao. Even cops might lose.

Nobody has even called it, yet, but Abbott has conceded. This is incredible. Turns out you can't send masked thugs into Latino communities without consequences in Texas.

They're gonna have to replace that red light at the top of the Capitol with a blue light. Texas is not red, Texas is not purple, Texas is deep blue.

Of course, I'm pretty sure Cornyn also would have gotten whipped. This is a bloodbath. Decision Desk HQ called it for Talarico, and he's still up by 11 with 70% of votes counted.
