Acts of simple sabotage are occurring throughout Europe. An effort should be made to add to their efficiency, lessen their detectability, and increase their number.
In happier news than the ongoing global horribleness, I managed to develop some film yesterday (aircraft museum trip). Ilford FP4 in 1:31 HC110.
Getting all my film library scanned and saved!
Abandoned tractor from 2023. Ilford FP4.
Enormous print day!
This stuff is like £5 a sheet...

YOU'RE ALL EITHER LYING OR WRONG!!
Similarly, waving my fingers when the lift door opens like I'm opening it with the force.
POLL:
Sometimes if I'm on my own, I'll go upstairs/along hallways as quietly as I can, checking doors and corners like I'm a secret agent or something on a secret mission to shoot baddies.
Told my wife this, and that it's a fairly universal male thing. She didn't believe me and called me a massive dork.
So, ever done this? (Please boost)
Apparently I'm not supposed to worry if Fomadon starts getting crystals growing in it, and it's fine? I'm probably due a new bottle anyway (still got a load of HC-110 as well but that doesn't play nice with IR? I dunno...).
Taking the camera body in to a shop to get the leaks fixed soon.

So the Rollei? Looks better (which is weird as IR metering is basically a roulette wheel). Note the light leak around the sprocket holes. I HAVE REPLACED ALL THE LIGHT PROOFING, WHY IS THAT STILL THERE?? (Note, every damm roll I put through the thing gets these, I did load the IR in a dark bag)
#AnaloguePhotography #Shootfilmstaybroke
But how do the negs look??
Well, the Tri X looks underdone. Metering may not be great, but the info around the perforations isn't clear. (Plus, stupid camera has a light leak I cannot fix)

First things, dev comes out somewhere between purple and jet black. I think that's mostly the IR emulsion and whatever anti halation stuff that is on it. Seriously though, if you thought Fomapan or T-Max weirdly discoloured your dev, you have seen NOTHING!! #BelieveInFilm
I happened to see on my Developing app that Tri-X 400 and Rollei IR have the same Dev guide (rodinal 1:50, 12', agitate 30s).
Well, I got a roll of Tri X and a roll of IR. And a bottle of Fomadon (that might be on the way out). And 2 spirals. Let's see what happens.
Last weekend:
- pin sharp golden sunlight, low enough to give everything deep textures
- vivid blue skies interspersed with dramatic contrasting clouds
- me "I'm definitely taking the big camera out next weekend!"
This weekend
- sky universally 18% grey
- everything totally flat without a single shadow or highlight
- slight rain
- me, with 7 darkslides of B&W loaded "bollocks"
Got the shutter working again, switching to mechanical backup speed seems to fix it. Although not sure if that only works once you've opened the back and played with the sprockets a bit...

I now appear to be the owner of TWO non- functional Minolta XD-7 bodies, as my current one decided to quit working halfway through a roll of Rollei IR.
FFS.
Having shot some Fomapan 100 yesterday and developed a bit today, I have to ask how do people stop it getting scratched up? Even putting it into/out the dark slide seems to almost take chunks out the emulsion.
May try cotton gloves, but not great for reloading in the middle of a field...
Also 2 shots look massively underexposed, but that may be my duff metering

Big camera day. Not raining for once!
Well, it's official. My laptop is dead.
Would quite like a Framework one, but haven't got the money... Gonna have to be refurbished
Excuse the idiot question:
Laptop died. Previously replaced the SSD and installed Fedora (now updated to 40)
Say I buy a refurbished laptop, whip the SSD out and stick mine in, what are the chances it will then function?
Hi hive mind,
We got some of those sensor outside light bulbs that come on at dusk, then turn off at dawn.
So.... How come they don't turn themselves (or each other) off? They're sensitive to light, then start putting out light when it gets dark, but don't then go "light! Time to switch off!"
