What fresh hell is this?

Beginning to think emails were a bad idea.

Off to a wedding in Frome today. Dressing like a 19th century gentleman, complete with hat and cane.

Good to see awareness raised on such a horrible and under-researched condition.

This looks fantastic!!

Experimental music, modular synths, live coding, visuals and DJs, all made with technology that's being used in ways it wasn't quite designed for.
Two rooms, and you're free to drift between them.

Performance Space: algorave pioneers Epiploke (Alex McLean, creator of TidalCycles and Strudel, and Lucy Cheeseman), Joseph Hyde's new real-time AV work Transit, a live-coded dungeon crawler with an improvised score from Nocturne Oasis x Title, and improvised modular synth audio and visuals from PVSH.

Ambient Space: Muzak Concrète on the decks, with @darta.vis showing his new digital modular visual synth, and the Bath Live Visuals Community jamming visuals live. Bean bags, installations, snacks and video games.

Painted side gate and shed a lovely “willow” green. Cleaned the steps up to the house and all the weeds from the bottom of the front wall. Dismembered an old storage box we no longer need.

Planted some plants in the pouring rain. One of them is a lovely jasmine so hopefully it will smell nice once it has settled in.

Fascinating interview with Brian Eno from 1995 about the future of music. Couple of predictions were spot on.

Also involves talk about art, boundaries, creativity, processes and systems, plus a bunch of other stuff.

Went on a boat trip around Bristol Harbour. It drove past the boat I used to live on. Still want the boat life, but maybe when me and mine are better positioned for it.

If everything is [x], then nothing is [x].

We had a special Sensei at last night’s Aikido: 7th Dan. Was fascinating to partake. Although I did really badly.

Another day. Another surprise trip to A+E with a different family member. That’s twice in as many weeks. Bless the both of them.

I am sorely tempted to replace my WordPress install with a series of individual hand written HTML pages. There’s no need for database functionality on what is essentially a portfolio site. And if I want to sell things I can get stripe / mollie / whomever to capture payment and details. Means nothing to hack, nothing to track and nothing to [something that rhymes with -ack]

Interesting things going down in the WordPress world. Matt appears to have been “put on leave”

merveillians: anyone else getting a load of 500 errors?

New Asian supermarket opened near to where I am. Salty, but delicious.

Next sunny break will be painting the shed and the side gate a lovely willow green.

Sanding and painting the wooden parts of the outside of the house ready for winter.

Planning on doing some Institute-related creative design and writing work today and tomorrow. So probably going to end up reading about Byzantine Iconoclasm whilst taking a break from gardening.
