There are 2 kinds of party people....
Those who want to stay, and those who want to go home.....
They are usually married to each other.
@reverendref ...or, in other words:
Every choice made in an election is a participation in the system. Even the choice to refuse to vote.
If all choices are "bad", you must make the choice that will be least likely to push society further from where you want it to be. Maybe the choice to "not vote" would be that choice in some circumstances. I can't think of any, but maybe.
But when one of the choices on offer is blatantly fascist, "not voting" is definitely the wrong choice.
This time, one choice IS fascist.
Trump argues you should vote Republican because the US oil sector is making trillions, as he has so brilliantly closed the Hormuz Strait, forcing the world to buy American oil. Plus he is making money on oil from Greenland.
The facts:
1. Closing the strait has created the largest oil crisis ever recorded in human history with a peak disruption of 14 percent.
2. Greenland is a Sovereign territory of Denmark which has granted zero new drilling licenses to US companies under Trump.
Keep voting, keep getting out the vote, but also call your reps! (thanks to https://www.5calls.org/ )

This just happened in British Columbia, Canada. The progressive NDP barely won the election 2 years ago, so they moved right, to try to gain support. But, when they called an election, they discovered that the right wing still didn't vote for them, and they had lost their progressive base, too.

and people who don't #vote are responsible for #fascism
the idea that someone would have a huge problem with fascism then... just whine?
that's not a real person
that's a false construct
more likely, they are entitled and don't care
ignoring a tool for fighting or at least delaying fascism, is someone complicit with fascism
they don't have an ideological position. they have a psychological problem: they are soft, inert passive lumps. they are status quo
QR codes are everywhere now and they have built-in error correction, which is a fancy way of saying they come with backup data. A scanner can still read the code even if about 30% of it is damaged, smudged or covered up. Now the scary part: Scammers love QR codes. They paste fake QR stickers over real ones on parking meters and signs. Before you scan, make sure it’s not some sticker slapped on. After you scan, read the web address before you tap or pay.
As much as I believe in freedom of religion, I also believe society should be secular.
When I see American states using Christian churches for polling places, I think that sends a non-secular signal. And I cannot help but wonder if American Christians would like to be forced to vote in a Muslim mosque.
In Denmark we use community halls, schools and sports centers when we vote, to show every voter that all faiths are equal, and atheists and people of faith are equal too.
This is the way.
To my 30,000 followers: I need your help.
The US midterms are just 15 days away, and they will decide whether a new Congress holds Trump accountable. So I made a video that drives a freight train through Trump’s most costly lie: that other countries pay his tariffs.
Please share it far and wide, and help get people out to vote. Because America has no kings.

The saying "Say no to drugs" always makes me laugh a bit.
If you're talking to drugs it's probably a little too late to be able to say "No" to them.
Rats have more empathy than MAGA Republicans.
Last night Russia hit energy facilities, infrastructure, a medical clinic, a school, a metro station, and ordinary residential buildings in Kyiv.
Ukraine got no warning from the US about incoming missiles, because Trump is blocking the intel sharing with Ukraine. So once again, the air raid sirens could not get civilians into the bomb shelters in time.
Washington is lost. Europe must replace American satellite intelligence.
For the first time in world history, Ukraine has evacuated a wounded soldier from the frontline using a large hexacopter drone.
Konstiantyn Vlasenko lost his leg due to Russian drone attacks on the trench position he was defending near Kupiansk, but he survived and kept defending.
No one could get him out because of the constant drone attacks, but then the drone operators of the 92nd assault brigade laid a plan for using a hexacopter with a harness which Konstiantyn could hook himself on to.

I evangelize Moka pots to everyone, so here comes...
Get a Moka pot. Really good coffee, a fabulous history, some wonderful physics (I did my PhD on the flow of water through ̶c̶o̶f̶f̶e̶e̶ ̶g̶r̶o̶u̶n̶d̶s̶ sand). The equipment is pretty low cost, and durable enough to last two lifetimes. Simple to use.
We must stop pleasing Trump and start pushing back, explains @anderspuck in another sharp analysis:
