must feel so good for an instruction to get prefetched,,,

anyway hi fedi :3

love when slopheads imply that llms can generate things that aren't slop

everything out of an llm (or other genai thing) is definitionally slop

i love cats, they're so adorable and cute and amazing and aaaaaa

love those fluffballs :neocat_melt_3:

syke, i am not apologising

just a prank sis

making sense is not my strongest suit, i apologise in advance

underwear -> undies -> undying -> undead

lolol u gay Xd

anyone know of support groups?

finally ready to admit i have a wrench addiction

lmao the amount of people telling me that llm addiction can be applied to "any useful tool"

yes i'm here at wrench users anonymous and would like to admit that i have a wrench addiction

also, i don't subscribe to notions of purity. if you've used llms before and reject them now, or only use then for work, or use them in your personal life but try to avoid them: i still support you!

no one is too far gone :neocat_heart:

i reject the tech, not the people

having used llms before for work, i have first hand experience of the effects they have on your mind, especially if you use them for creation (like writing code)

they're addictive gambling machines, even if you know they are. they can't be used responsibly. after stopping with their use for work, i noticed myself reaching for them. it took me months to fully recover. there was also very noticeable skill atrophy

i knew of the many issues, but these things work on your monkey brain, they're very hazardous

if you use them and you're not forced to use them, stop using them. they are not worth it in any way. if you can't stop using them for work, try to avoid them outside of work as much as possible. harm reduction is a valid strategy

this technology needs to be eliminated, there is no way to salvage it

and this is me focusing on the psychological issues, there are way more severe social and ethical issues with it

do y'all know slopfree lobsters alternatives?

i know of awful.systems and humancrafted.discourse.group (though this is not exactly the same)

but are there others?

is it gay to spill a register

asking for a friend

isn't it gay to boost posts of girls

asking for a friend

hi i am a fediverse user

are you also a fediverse user

i don't like being unkind to people but at some points i actually am and i don't think i'm wrong

reflecting over at what point it's acceptable to be unkind

like, it's easy in some cases, but there is such a huge grey area for me

fwee soffwawe :neocat_aww:

the way i use the term slop is about how it's soullessly regurgitated, rather than quality. because of what it is, it is way more likely to be low quality

but if someone shapes slop to be higher quality, that's still slop. it's still unethical. all genai output is slop because it's other people's stuff, regurgitated and extruded back out. it is always slop
