The UI for Hubspot makes me want to scream into my pillow.
Yet, it's a marked improvement from Salesforce.

i continue to stare at my steel pan at amazement. It's all silvery and gold and I've cooked on it without it once blackening or having food that got stuck and was impossible to clean out. And if it was stuck all I do is boil some water and it slips out. It's like voodoo.

Both US political parties are increasingly frustrated with AI CEOs.

They promise unprecedented prosperity but also warn of mass unemployment and catastrophic disasters from their own products.

It’s hard to convince the public to embrace a technology when its creators keep warning them to fear it.

Augh I am now at the "I have to wait for the next episode" stage 😭. This drama is so good! Such well written characters

#Cdrama

Yay, another good one for me! Not sure why, just attracted to modern dramas after Against the Current. First, lawyers in Rising Justice and now doctors in Small Town Remedy.

Mostly because, to be blunt, I needed something that was high quality and these dramas have it because they are...not idol dramas.

After Against the Current my brain 🧠 is more unforgiving of idol dramas like Where the Mask Ends and the new Meng Ziyi drama Tiger Sniff the Rose. (I find her acting bad on a good day and now it's unbearable after the stellar acting in AtC.) It may take some time for me to be more tolerant of idol dramas again 😅

Africa: How K-Dramas Use Africa As a Backdrop to Boost South Korea's Image: [The Conversation Africa] The success of South Korean popular music or K-pop continues to power the Hallyu Wave, a term that describes the global obsession with the country's pop culture production. https://allafrica.com/stories/202610230019.html?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=mastodon #KDrama #HallyuWave #Kpop #SouthKorea #AfricanCulture

Tried to watch Where the Mask Ends several times but I hate Jun Dai so much I kept fast forwarding lol.
I need less stressful entertainment right now 😅

Another reason why I love living in Malaysia. I can get cheap, fresh sardines. Sardines are one of the best fish to eat regularly. I got six of them for RM5 today.

God help the world I am going to attempt cooking Ratatouille this weekend.

I feel like I've been lied to by the industry making non-stick pans. The amount of RM200+ pans I bought, thinking that if I bought a more expensive non-stick pan it would be non-stick longer...when I could've bought a beautiful steel pan for the same amount and not is it more durable, it will be non-stick forever.

The tragedy is that I only know this in my late forties 🫪
#cooking

At first I thought oh no, I've ruined the pan. When I first got it, it was pristine silver, then used it for the first time and the middle part turned orange. No matter what I did to scrub it off it won't come off. So I thought, Okla goodbye beautiful silver, but as long as still can use it's ok.

Then someone recommended that I use Scott Brite. I thought what's the big deal, looks like regular sponge only. Today out of curiosity, I poured some vinegar let it sit for a while then used the Brite on it and was stunned to see it just come off like that. Magic 🫪

Ps: Have cooked a few things with it including meat and fish. Did not stick at all. This is even better than my kononya non stick pans cos they always give up after a few weeks. This one is like, waaah as long as u heat it up properly it will be non stick! Science!

On Threads I read social media posts in Malay, on xhs and weibo in Chinese (well some of it anyway) and on Mastodon and Substack, English.

Different vibes and perspectives. A good way to exercise your language muscles too.

Me on a contrary mood and revelling against watching the c-drama everyone is watching, namely Lament of Autumn and the one with Tian Xi Wei 😆.
Was recommended this movie by xhs which just debuted on iQiyi. Usually straight-to-platform movies are not that great but this was so outstanding I actually thought it was a theatrical movie that was just streamed on Iqiyi.
This has become so popular that is literally being recommended and praised everywhere on xhs.

Very classic wuxia, with stellar fight scenes. I feel I need a second watch to truly understand the intricate plotting in this movie!

One thing I love about being on xhs is finally seeing all kinds of Chinese recipes. Before, when all I had was YouTube and other English social media it was so hard to find food that I'd like to try. Healthy food recipes always looked so bland to me and really can't stand salads 😆.

But on xhs I get to see so many types of Chinese recipes and cooking methods. It's so awesome.

I am currently obsessed with high fibre rice, tho I doubt I'd be this hardworking to cook this up

Gawd I relate to this so much. I am part of a Chinese drama forum and the amount of people giving negative reviews to Chinese dramas with ambiguous, non-happily-ever-after endings drives me wild.

I am reading a 200-year-old collection of short stories from China that would probably get a negative reviews on Goodreads because most Western readers won't like the ambiguous endings. Not to mention Chinese stories don't follow the approved, “right” story structure. They will feel like unfinished stories, stories that end with no resolution. They don't realise these stories are literally a “front”, an allegory, for deep criticisms of the Qing dynasty. 🫪 The Chinese are very known for talking in metaphors, allegories, poetry. They are not direct people. (It kinda will get you killed back then lol)
