If only we had had some warning about this...
Now all the insurance claims will drive all premiums even higher.

Y'think!?! Get the #NFL to make more, technical, subjective rules and increase helmet size by 20% - provlem solved.
A young lad in #Yorkshire on an #Engineering #apprenticeship has made a device that blocks #rats and other #wildlife from getting into #railway signal cabinets and gnawing #cables, which causes many delays to trains (it even protects the rats from electric shocks!)

#SilentSunday morning in the Pyrenees
Well, the leftover double #chocolate #vegan #waffles are relegated to mid-morning #snacks this week. Ergo, I needed something else for #breakfast... Shazam - #vegan #pumpkin chocolate chip #pancakes dusted with #chai spice / #cinnamon sugar!
This analysis is fascinating: it breaks down how when you fill up a petrol car most of the energy never moves it.
Petrol car: 13–21% of the crude oil's energy reaches wheels.
Electric car on today's UK grid: 43–45%.
Electric car on wind+solar: 77–80%.

Genies go back in bottles, but miseries don't go back into Pandora's Box.
The pro-LLM crowd clearly mean to invoke that story rather than the genie. The box, after all, is a gift from the gods and they think they're building something divine.
"The misery can never be re-contained, but if you keep the box open, you'll find hope." is what they mean to say but can't because they can't admit to causing misery.
So once all the airlines go bankrupt and defunct can we go back to trains?
Good morning #vegan #mastodon and #beautifulpeoplearoundtheworld. I'm having some latent #anxiety from this wonderful time in #history, but also my usual double #chocolate #vegan #waffles for #breakfast. See feed for previous pics. Here's a pic from last week.
Every politician who signed, clapped and cheered and then who failed to implement or actively resisted the measures required to meet this target should consider how they'd defend themselves against a future charge of ecocide.
I'm almost 50 years old and I have been working in the arts my entire career.
I've spent half my life being told my work isn't a real job and nobody needs it. And now I'm about to spend the other half being told my work is worth trillions and the AIs who do it now are inevitable.
So which is it?

I'd like to hear from the next most senior woman from #Cornell what she thinks of the institutional response to this event (and the number of unreported #sexualassaults that have occured).
