"All alone, somebody is dancing. Their dance partner has been lost, yet the dance goes on. But then, suddenly, there come others, joining the dance. The sorrowful atmosphere dissipates. Now there is joy and laughter. A new light has come."

I finally got around to recording something again! This is Damhsóir Uaigneach, an original composition written between June and September this year.

I obtained two new CDs this week!
The stunning Hello Harp by Rachel Hair, signed with a message in Gaelic.
And the lovely album Iníon by Inni-K, also signed, with a message in Irish!

Both CDs are absolutely amazing.

Are you in for some incredible harp music? Check out Rachel's new album!
Interested in some Irish seán-nos singing? Check out Inni-K!

Once, as I was reading the bookseries Drägan Duma, by Patty van Delft, I wanted my own dragon to fly away with.
I expressed this in music, and then the tune Dräga was born!

I do not often play it anymore, but it is still a nice tune, I think.

The SSD was not completely broken, it seemed. Some of the files could still be read. At least some of the small text files in my home directory. Larger files, documents, returned an I/O-error.

So... Maybe something can still be saved?
I definitely hope so. I have not touched my SSD since. Don't want to risk breaking it further by mounting it. If that is how this would go.

Fortunately, I made a backup of all my files about a month ago! So only a month of files and progress is lost, at most.

This week, I have been working hard on writing my paper for the course Middle Welsh 3. Unfortunately, my SSD decided to break on Monday. I am very glad that I had sent a copy of the paper draft to my smartphone the day before.
So nothing of that progress was lost!

I am also very lucky to know my way around computers a bit, so that I can now still use my laptop.

(Using Kanotix, which I had some time before put on an USB-stick!)
Long live live-booting!

Question to the Welsh native speakers:

Does this make any sense as title of a tune, that should give a feeling of a forest that's haunted in a friendly manner?

'Yr Coed Ellylledig yn Caredig'

I am rather uncertain about it, whether it works like this, or not.

Today marks the release of the second ever solo CD of the skilled Scottish harp player Rachel Hair, and oh my, it is so good!
There are definitely moments where I wonder how the fingers don't get all entangled, as fast as the tunes are played, with so much lovely ornamentations. Absolutely stunning.

I have put the digital album on play now thrice already. Can't wait to receive the physical CD!

You should definitely check it out!

Okay, I have a question for folks living in Wales:
Which part of Wales are you in, and how does nature look like around there? What kind of landscape?

Alternatively, I would also be happy with a source about the landscapes in Wales.

Ik heb een eigen website gemaak!
Je kan hem hier vinden:
https://basvanhaastregt.nl

I have created a playlist with all the four video's in which I play my own compositions!

You can now find my harpvideos through @keltische_harp !

I have done a synchronisation with my YouTube channel, but I left some videos out, for tunes that I can play much more nicely now than I could when I recorded them.

Does anyone know a PeerTube instance where my harp videos would nicely fit in?
I am looking for a well-moderated instance, preferably with a main focus on music or performing. Or else a queer instance would be good as well.

Edit:
Thanks everyone for the boosts and the replies!
The two main instances mentioned were rankett.net and makertube.net. The first of which is hosted in the USA, the latter was mentioned more often and is in the EU. So that's what I went with!
Thanks!

a mineur klinkt echt anders dan b mineur, bijvoorbeeld. Ze hebben net een andere klankkleurtint.

I have tried yesterday for the third time to write a jig. Hopefully this time I did it right!

Although one minor change is already needed, as I should have done better counting...

This weekend you can find me at Middeleeuws Ter Apel, one of the best mediaeval festivals of the Netherlands!
I will be walking around, playing my harp, on the field, most of the day. As long as it does not rain.
