‘musical scores are temporarily disabled’ on wikipedia, that’s an interesting lil thing to run into

ooo new mbr is out, will be giving that a listen asap https://masterbootrecord.bandcamp.com/album/computer-metal

i may have asked this before; it’s not my highest priority problem to solve but it continues to float around in my mind as my mss-1 is both very large and in need of repair… does anyone know of a similar device that will:

* figure out tempo from an external click track,
* read and write timecode to an external audio recorder (proprietary timecode formats fine),
* to use as a midi clock (din connections preferred obviously)

mulling over whether i should start being more aggressive with the sort fields in my music library; like stripping out diacritics and changing things like ‘b0yg1rl’ to ‘boygirl’…

feels like now that the board of ed candidates around here are being so flagrantly partisan, it should just be considered a partisan position so folks’ ballots at least provide that minuscule amount of information. i mean, that’s ultimately probably not a good idea, i’m just really frustrated with how egregious it’s gotten. and honestly when you hear them talk it feels like it’s about school as a business and appeasing parents rather than the care of kids.

oh shit, new waldorf stringer?!?!?

dang, it’s been such a good year for music that i just straight up keep forgetting about a bunch of stuff that dropped in winter/spring. currently listening to https://hikes.bandcamp.com/track/intentions

how did proton somehow convince people they _weren’t_ ai peddlers within just ~2 years of the last mass exodus that happened because of their ai peddling?!

i really need to dig through makthaverskan’s backcatalogue, their album from earlier this year is doin’ it for me right now https://makthaverskan.bandcamp.com/track/ken

oh dang, had no idea david wise was on bandcamp; https://davidwise.bandcamp.com/album/rare-treats-diddy-kong-racing-revisited

o, to be a mermaid just chillin' on a rock, writin' wet lil basic programs

i’ve had a few conversations this evening with both online and offline friends and. i’m kinda fuckin’ worked up. i love art. i have always loved art. i have not always been encouraged to pursue art, but i have always pursued art; i have always loved art. believed it to be important. human. i believe art is broadly stroked. i believe in outsider art. i have done my research and i believe llms and the larger crop of current ‘ai’ tech to be an affront to art, and by extension, humanity.

i make no exceptions. i am an artist and i stand ground on the idea that artists do not always get what they want and their greatest art often comes from extenuating limiting factors. art is not about ease.

art is not about ease.

if you disagree you are welcome to fuck off as i am unwilling to concede this point that is core to my humanity.

i only wish that you find your humanity as well instead of relying on an unreliable spectre.

but that’s a wish. only you can make it true.

no better time than 3pm on a sunday to drop a new track, am i right??
