what's wrong babe you've barely touched your potential even though all those grade school teachers liked you and said you were gifted and that you were going to do great things in life

Here I am, trying to reduce the use of GenAI as much as possible and now Atlassian starts sending me AI-generated suggestions, based on the tickets I have written, for prompts to ask their AI assistant on how to improve my tickets.

Thank you.
Why not go ahead and offering me prompts to generate prompts to improve my prompts to do my work?
I don’t see why I have to type in anything anymore, there should be a button called „Make“ and it creates whatever the model thinks will generate value.

@kookie other more sophisticated models predict that the next funny number is -530. it feels close to 420 so i think this theory has some merit

Someone at the makerspace last week asked how I seemingly know how to use every tool from sewing machines to soldering irons and lathes to lasers, and my reply was that my favourite thing to do is learn. Whenever people ask what I want to _do_ with a skill I’m learning I often have no response, I just love learning things to learn them and get good at them. I’ll definitely find uses later, but it’s not why I learn stuff.

if investors were willing to give me a chance i will lose at most $1-2B a year

Watch this clip and how he deftly dismantles #bigotry

He makes the parallel between the heckler questioning his loyalties because he is Muslim, with #JFK dealing with the same #religiousBigotry about JFK being Catholic

El-Sayed could go far. He's good at this

What kind of new scam is it that I receive AI generated email requests for a bag that apparently I am selling (I am not, would be hard since I don’t own the bag nor know what kind of bag it is) from random Gmail addresses?

"Grandma, how did people keep refrigerators from leaking sensitive photos when you were my age?"

Rules of the house: the clock is always right, even when NTP is not. Nobody mentions the buzzer. We do not talk about the buzzer.

Protip:

When designing a user interface, imagine some old woman using it, say Margaret Hamilton, and she's clicking your app's buttons and saying to you, as old people do,

"Young whippersnapper, when I was your age, I sent 24 people to the ACTUAL MOON with my software in 4K of RAM and here I am clicking your button and it takes ten seconds to load a 50 megabyte video ad and then it crashes

I'm not even ANGRY with you, I'm just disappointed."

Fun story: When I was traveling home I wore my "Watch Herzog" t-shirt for travel day. It's got a giant picture of Werner's face on it.

This fucked up every single facial recognition program both the Mexican and US passport control areas to the point that agents for both countries had to pull me aside and verify my identity the old fashioned way.

So t-shirts with big faces on them don't work well with AI Facial recognition systems. Figured that would be interesting information around here.
