I talk to people about web archiving a lot, and it feels like so many people think it’s not something *they* can do - they just have to wait and hope someone else saves a site for them. But *you* can save web history too! Here’s how! https://blog.mistys-internet.website/post/2026/10/29/if-you-love-a-website-back-it-up/
Please don't scroll past. This is important.
(edit: Note that the FreeBSD subreddit is in no way affiliated with the official FreeBSD project.)
I am being pressured by FreeBSD's reddit moderation team to censor the Omarchy #content_review or to remove it completely. They have began a harrasment campaign with the goal of removing me from this world.
the review: https://merveilles.town/@prahou/117501303459299869
The issue at hand is that a picture of a partial swastika appears in close proximity to the word FreeBSD, this they perceive as an attack on the FreeBSD project - if you've seen a newspaper before, you might understand the principle of two separate unrelated articles appearing next to each other. You might also understand that I am reporting on common associations with the Topic of the review. These are not my inventions, and I am not calling anyone anything. I am reporting on the news. Nevertheless, as much as I am a journalist, I am an artistè, and if my audience sees in my work something I didn't put there, I am not going to take that experience away from them. This probably says more about them than it does about me.
While I am a man of principle, there is one thing I like more - money.
I will delete it for $2,000. For $5,000 I will apologize. For $10,000 I will use daemonarchy exclusively for 6 months on all my computers. For $25,000 I will not do anything. For $75,000 I will not post anything for a month.

To everyone who likes my work, this message is for you (from said freebsd moderator) [cw ableist slur]: https://beige.party/@fuzzy/117510032933612034
To everyone else who feels personally attacked by my art: send money, you can end this here and now.
Thank you for your attention.

Forgot I had this video of it.
ESD-Bags sparking against the table they're lying on due to the high electric field / charges being sprayed off
This is what's in the manual of my 1989 alarm clock in case you didn't know what we lost in repairability in just 10 - 20 years
PHP vulnerability?
4?
What are you talking about, get your computing components here and be save from all this.
am I masochistic enough to compile and flash EC firmware to my one laptop that I own and use
accidentally found the fan on my framework laptop can actually go a good 10% faster (measured RPM) but they just never came back to this note in their embedded controller source
10% isn't much but at the same time my laptop spends some hours per month in compiling stuff at a speed limited by heat, and that's actually a relevant amount of time
a small repair success!
my nestie's ~18 year old toyota yaris had one of the front speakers stop working a while ago. and then recently the other??
anyway I learned to take off the door panel and the speaker itself was open circuit? apparently this is a relatively common problem!
after drilling out the speaker rivets (whyyyyy rivets) I found one braided feed wire had fractured under its support stanchion. quick lick o' wick and we are back!
hardest part is the bloody weird rivets
I read some post about how Mastodon consists primarily of German-speaking creatures talking in English. I'm gonna do a poll, need to test that. Boosts highy appreciated!
So, do you speak German?
Can anyone enlighten me as to this odd tanker? It had what appear to be three air scoops on each side facing forward, and three tubes facing backward as if to do suction. There were no hazchem signs or clues as to contents, all stainless, 2 or 3 ~40mm stainless pipes ran from the tank(s) to the rear to simple valves and covers afaict. Were they just drying it out between loads??
I still need to mount rails in the box and wire up:
- DALI PSU
- 12V PSU
- 2× 48V 240W PSU
- fan controller
- RPi with CAN and 12v input hat
- DALI to CAN/USB bridge
- terminal blocks and fuses for same
and punch out a bunch of D-type cutouts on the box's gland plate for data, power etc.
and then pack my clothes for this trip into all the nooks and crannies. and the other big present for someone else's birthday
bus couplers are housed too.
these take up to 6 buttons and knobs - the max that will fit on an Australian wall plate - and map them to DALI input and feedback devices (the pushbutton status LEDs are "feedback")
professor abrasive's light switch factory
these are illuminated pushbutton mechs mounted to suit Hager Rotoloc plates. fairly standard 16mm industrial buttons, LEDs replaced with warm white, into a 2-parf press fit flame retardant ABS printed housing, JST connector to my DALI bus coupler
ok mouser can't to a correction order on a correction order so I got a credit and ordered new ones from Digi-Key and they actually shipped me normal ones
now to pack my largest suitcase,
also also, look at that fully stacked menu of color decoder settings! you can mess this up to your hearts content!
ohh god @ancientjames has done it again!
so Project Illuminating Friendship is going well
ordered a pair of 48V 240W DIN rail PSUs from Mouser to power friend's neat 48v/DALI track lights
they arrived so crushed that the inlet chokes had completely broken loose from the boards. clearly damaged in the warehouse and then shipped
it took 10 days and now I have replacements
and they are also crushed. also clearly warehouse repacked because the boxes have damage in the wrong spots
I am flying to my friend's far-away home in 10 days
looking forward to packing this 400x400x200 box with electronics and... trying to jam it in my suitcase?? wish me luck
the graphic design on this box tho, p good
