I still don't do much in person, and hadnt really done anything for Halloween in years, so this was particularly nice!
This week the same group also had a virtual scary stories night so that people not able to come in person could do something festive. Really cool stuff.
Had a masked, costumed, in the park meetup tonight with some covid cautious friends. It was really nice and we stayed until it was dark!

Obviously don't want her in danger but we (mostly Robin) did everything she could 🫤
Neighbor's cat got out again and my wife (and me some) helped try to get it back home, or after we found out they weren't home, into our place for like an hour. Eventually it hid well enough towards their yard. Worried about her, but Robin COULD NOT find her again. The people get home in an hour or so, but yeah still worried about the poor kitty being outside (she likes being outside at least)
Guy working at walgreens, when asked about the wildest costume he saw so far explained he saw people dressed as nazis, so that is...uh...really bad

Wheelchair users, how does one get over an obstacle like this: a pretty high treshold or curb where the ground level drops after the treshold (usually with a doorway to pass through as a bonus)? I find it tricky, if not impossible to wheelie over, and going backwards is downright terrifying/asking for a crushed skull. Nicely Halloween appropriate, but I get enough stares as it is.
Any tips or tricks other than praying or having someone there to help? 1/2
You know what's a social privilege? Disaster prep. An awful lot of people do not have the spare resources to prepare in advance. (Flashback to the people who stuck out Hurricane Katrina in Nola b/c they didn't have bus fare to get out of town.)
As with anything else, take care of your own needs first, but if afterwards you are able to do more, please invest in community resilience and the preparedness of your vulnerable friends, too.
Edited original post, now just an update: 1st emergency adverted but not fully solved, 2nd had a typo so just regular dentist and a chipped tooth needing a filling. Could have been a lot worse overall, so ill take it.
Was bored with work, wanted to do something rewarding, I volunteer a few hours once a month for a charity. It's amazing. A boring Fess, but it is rewarding. Just do something good for someone, it will make you and more importantly someone else feel better. Do it, please.
Cant wait to get this one edited! Ive been a bit slower because of life stuff and a "secret" project, but im super excited about showing this one off!

Recorded a really cool new lighting diagram video today for a painting that has ~6 different directions of light, but looks seamless in the big picture. So fun to see such theatrical lighting in a painting!
