Star Wars is getting really weird.

In case you're wondering how MAGA is handling this stunning rejection of MAGA, Ron DeSantis just delivered a speech blaming trans people for the fact that MAGA ran billions of dollars in anti-trans ads, which he says are the cause of this sweeping defeat of MAGA.

We did it, girls. We defeated MAGA. It's all our fault.

Rice crispies in Uk no longer to be made with rice grains and will no longer be gluten free. This seems quite a big deal to me. If you have food intolerances or worse. You may have safely eaten these for 50 years and no one reads the ingredients every time

As an admin on Fedi, I used to welcome new users, fight Nazis, and suspend trolls.

Now all I do is fight against the endless army of soulless scam machines, forever marching against our server walls in an attempt to destroy the community we've built here. It's exhausting and disheartening. At least the Nazis and Trolls were real people who would get pissed and fuck off eventually, but the LLMs will run as long as someone pays the electric bill for them.

A new LLM-powered scam: research an author, research a publication they write for, research the title of something they've written, register a similar gmail address, go phishing.

In February I will once again be the lead convenor for the seventh edition of Coding Medieval worlds, a free fully-online workshop for historians and game developers to discuss the relationship between game dev and the premodern past! If you'd like to join, the call for participants is now open.

Our website is at: https://exilian.co.uk/codingworlds/

Boosts very welcome :)

In Ghana 🇬🇭 when posters can't be imported, local artists will bootleg them to the best of their abilities. Some often are more imaginative than the official studio releases.

Kermit and his newfound friends trek across America to find success in Hollywood, but a frog legs merchant is after Kermit.

In a previous version of my complaining about Derek always playing Laserface, the character was called "Heat Vision Bloke" but I altered it to Laserface after the audience reaction during the first half of the tour.

I have learnt a lot from Stewart Lee.

@Printdevil I think I find the 'artist/community organiser' model of being a GM so much more compelling than the 'loyal consumer and socmed simp' model

@Taskerland because it's monday for whinge.

It's stunning how many rulesets, and gaming theories in TTRPGs have developed entirely around stopping Derek from playing Laserface. It's equally stunning how few of them address "In hosting your games you might want some advice on how to tell Derek not to play Laserface"

Game designers would literally re-invent the teacup of the whole hobby rather than advise the GM on "how to say no to Derek"

I hope all the parents remembered to double-check their kids' #Halloween candy. There are some sick, sick people out there.

When I was young and took my sci-fi deadly seriously, I was not at all keen on the addition of K-9 to Doctor Who. A robot dog with a silly pun of a name seemed ever so naff.

Now I'm old, and a sentimental old fool at that, I can admit that the silly tin dog wormed his way into my heart. All credit to John Leeson's vocal performance.
