Instead of 3D design on #FreeCADfriday I sewed the #FreeCAD patch to my nerdy #motorcyclejacket

Had a lovely ride this morning - I love the silent acceleration and curvy roads in the area.

On #FreeCADfriday I made an active cooling base for the #switch2 - it gets quite hot when in the dock

Two 80mm fans are placed in the bottom and are powered by the USB from the Dock

Does anyone have an idea why the Dell WD19TB does not support USB-C and HDMI at the same time? I don't want to use two USB connectors but it seems the only way that I can run two displays with different connectors (in addition to the laptop display)

Yesterday I installed #eOS on my #Fairphone4 and completely moved away from Google.
The instructions from /e/OS are missing a "sudo" in one spot, so it took two or three minutes longer.

Does anyone know of an open source keyboard that
- supports two languages for predictions simultaneously (!)
- can insert a space after a prediction (not a hidden space)
- the previewed long press key is the first selection on long press

so basically has all features of #swiftkey ?

Electric motorcycle riding feels like science fiction and very Cyberpunk. Who said saving climate can't be fun?

Created a wall mounting system to be able to adjust the position of the thing that is mounted to the wall (at least a few mm), so I can mount segments of a wooden picture of the Danube river to our stairway.

#Systemd has good usecases. But looking at simplicity how #openbsd does things in a #functional and kiss way is just pure beauty.

ifconfig(8) for configuring interfaces.

For each if you can have a /etc/hostname.if(8) file.

netstart(8) is a shell script, which takes a if name, looks up for and reads the hostname.if(5) file and outputs a shell script to call ifconfig(8)

(the -n below is for outputing to stdout instead of executing)

Quirinux is the first GNU/Linux distribution specifically designed for animated film production. Originally from Argentina, it continues to be developed in Spain. Its creator is Charlie Martínez.

Starting with version 2.0, our distribution, which was previously based on Debian, has transitioned to being based on Devuan @devuan We found that by removing SystemD, we can run more efficiently on older machines.

So this "CVSS 9.9" "unauthenticated RCE vs all GNU/Linux systems (plus others)" thing...

- Does NOT affect all GNU/Linux systems.
- Is not CVSS 9.9. I put it at a 6.3

It also requires:
1) The victim system has no active firewall to block incoming connections.
2) A user on the victim system must print something to a printer that mysteriously appears on the system that has never been there before.

If these two things happen, then command execution can happen as the "lp" user.

We get it. You found a vulnerability.
Lying about it to try to stir up interest in it is not appreciated by anybody who takes themselves seriously in this industry.

CVE-2024-47176, CVE-2024-47076, CVE-2024-47175, and CVE-2024-47177 have been assigned.
